Open Your Home.....
Open your home to others -
no matter how small you think it is,
no matter how untidy you think it is,
no matter how inadequate you think it is,
no matter how full it already is,
no matter how dirty you think it is,
no matter how much work it needs doing on it,
no matter how badly you think you cook,
no matter how much ‘better’ they do things than you,
no matter how worried you are that everything will go ‘wrong’.
Invite people in -
no matter how rich or poor you think they are,
no matter how judgmental you think they are,
no matter how rustic or unfashionable your fare is,
no matter how mismatched your crockery is,
no matter how well you know them.
And then, on the day (or week), even if things do go wrong, face them with a smile.
Don’t get yourself worked up into a state.
Don’t let your insecurities ruin everyone’s day.
Think ‘what does it matter’?
You have been kind and done as commanded:
‘Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.’ ~ 1 Peter 4:9
‘Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined.’ ~ Titus 1:8
Only, make sure the bathroom the guests are going to use is clean!
Get the whole family to help in preparation and don’t try to have everything ‘perfect’.
Enjoy!
